About Our Products

Because our tinctures are basically made form organic materials, they not only neutralize toxic waste materials efficiently, but their nutritive qualities are easily broken down and assimilated by human cells, Rich mineral deposits in the desert soil are taken up through osmosis and assimilated into the plant life, forming essences more readily available to the skin than minerals and other irritants derived from less complex systems.

These plants remain free of many harsh chemical substances so prevalent in plant life today. They contain a wide array of antimicrobial and antioxidant properties as well as other vitamins and deterrents to free radicals (occurring naturally of course).

Featuring:

Larrea's unique assemblage of compounds are valuable in both medicinal and practical applications. Probably the most well known and thoroughly studied is Nordihydroguiaretic acid (NGDA)–a very powerful antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal (including yeast) and even anti-protozoan.

Sage: The foliage of sagebrush is rich in Artimitin, a powerful disinfectant. Its antiseptic properties combine with the antioxidant power of its high vitamin C content to create a germ-free environment where potentially harmful ions are reduced and free radical formation is prevented.

Utah Juniper: The berries are known for their antiseptic (elimination of micro-organisms), aromatic, diuretic (increased cellular fluid exchange) and rebefacient (increased blood circulation) qualities. Ideal when topically applied for removal of waste from underlying tissue.

Green Valley Spa offers a variety of products that include aqueous extractions from native plant species that occur locally, in the foothills and uplands of the Mojave and Great Basin Deserts. These include Utah Juniper (Juniperus Utahensis), Banana Yucca (Yucca baccata), Larrea (Larrea tridentada) and Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentada). Gathered from their native habitat, the raw botanical materials retain their natural qualities and are “truly organic”

These plants contain an assortment of water soluble compounds with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that neutralize toxins and enable efficient assimilation of nutrients by human cells. Some of the active ingredients in our preparations (Breeze, Radiance, Sand, and Clarity) consist of compounds extracted from Larrea (larrea tridentada), These compounds, including Nordihydroguiaretic Acid (NDGA), probably the most well-known and thoroughly studied compound of Larrea, have been found valuable to humans in both medicinal and practical applications. NDGa is a powerful antioxidant.

Recent research has demonstrated the NDGA in particular, and additional phenolic compounds and terpenes found in Larrea, exhibit potent antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal (including yeast), and even anti-protozoan properties. So far, the list of microorganisms that show little or no resistance to the Larrea's chemical arsenal includes ten genera of bacteria, seven genera of pathogenic yeast and fungi, herpes simplex type I, and possibly some protists.

While the potential value of the secondary compounds in Larrea have only recently come to light in modern medicine, its traditional utility to Native Americans is thousands of years old. For topical use: poultice, a tea, powdered leaves, or small quantities of resin were applied to the problem areas.

While Green Valley Spa does not claim that its treatment preparations cure any particular human disorder, they do contain many of the previously discussed curative compounds found in Larrea and are recommended as a topical therapy for a variety of skin disorders.
